Simple changes to existing designs, for example material (excluding precious metals, such as silver and gold) and clasp swaps, may not be covered under this policy. This is assessed on a case by case basis and you shall be notified if the policy applies to you. Custom orders can be requested by anyone outside of the EU, however if you are in a country that is not listed as a country I ship to your request may be rejected if shipping is not feasible. Please see the Shipping and Returns page for more information.

Clear and direct communication is a requirement for custom designs. If i feel that you have not provided detailed information for your request or are not communicating adequately, I reserve the right to stop working on your order entirely, or .until clarity and regular communication has been established

I reserve the right to rejects custom request for any reason, including but not limited to:

1. There is not satisfactory amount of time to complete your request,

2. You are requesting a 1:1 copy of another artists work without permission (evidience of permission and contact details for the artist are required),

3. Your request does not align with CrimsonMaille's values

If your request is accepted, I will provide an estimate for production time based on size, complexity, and quantity of your requested piece(s). Please understand that this is an estimate and I reserve the right to extend the production time, though I will make every effort to avoid this. 

Should an issue/delay arise due to unforeseen circumstances, you will be notified and given the opportunity to cancel your order in exchange for a refund.

Custom items are priced individually, based on materials and time spent working on your item(s) (including time spent designing).

If your request is accepted, you will be notified and I will ask for any clarifying details needed before designing can begin. Once details of your request have been established you will need to pay a non-refundable deposit of 10 plus 20% of the value of your requested item(s); this is to ensure that I am not left out of pocket should the request be cancelled.

Once a design is agreed upon, you will receive an invoice to be paid before work can begin, equal to 50% of the full cost of your item(s). Upon the completion of your item(s), you will need to pay the remaining 30% plus shipping before the item is dispatched to you. Shipping is via Royal Mail 48 Hour Tracked (UK) or International Tracked (Elsewhere), unless agreed otherwise.

Example:

If you are quoted £100 for your request, you will pay £30 to initiate design, once the design is agreed upon you will pay £50. Bringing your paid total to 70% and initiating the production process. Upon completion you will pay the remaining 30% (£30) plus shipping, at which time your item shall be dispatched to you.

Custom designs are not exclusive and I reserve the right to reproduce designs for general sale.

You may request to retain exclusivity for an additional fee. Please include this in your initial request submission. Exclusivity cannot be guaranteed after payment has been taken.
