Care Information
Stainless Steel
CrimsonMaille's stainless steel jewellery is durable, tartnish and corrosion resistant, and hypoallergenic. The majority of my products are made from 304 stainless steel, with some 316 stainless steel elements. The 316 stainless steel does contain low-levels of none-leeching nickle which may cause a reaction in those with severe allergies.
Stainless steel can be exposed to water, however contact with chemicals should be avoided. For example, products such as sunscreen should be washed off of your jewellery.
Buff your jewellery with a soft cloth to retain its shine. You may also use polish, though this is unnecessary, so long as it is advertised as being safe for stainless steel. If you decide to use a polish, it is at your own risk.
Anodised Aluminium
Anodised Aluminium is durable and lightweight, but the coloured layer may fade or scratch if incorrectly cared for.
If you need to clean your jewellery use a mild dish soap and lukewarm water, gently rub the jewellery (no scrubbing), rinse thoroughly and pat dry with a soft towel.
Store away from sunlight to avoid UV fading, and away from other metals to avoid scratching.
Anodised Aluminium won't rust, but should be dried immediately after contact with water to avoid water spots or mineral deposits.
Do Not use silver polish or harsh cleaners as these can strip the colour from your jewellery.
Do Not wear anodised aluminium jewellery in swimming pools or while showering,
It is best to allow any skincare products, makeup, or perfumes to be fully absorbed/dried before putting on your anodised aluminium jewellery.
Metal Alloy
Some of CrimsonMaille's items currently contain elements made from a metal alloy, for example the push-gate O ring on FLORENCE, though we are working on moving away from this.
These items should be stored in a dry place when not being worn and contact with water, oils, and chemicals should be avoided. The metal alloy element may dull with time if exposed to too much moisture.
